EY employees also receive “a safe digital wallet”-the Ey Wallet app-to pay with bitcoins. The specially developed app should be “very well protected in the EY system environment” and can be invited to the company smartphones of the employees. In other words, EY is the first company to give its employees a bitcoin wallet with it, as usual, is assigned an email address.

Active approach to Bitcoin is intended to prepare EY employees to better understand the digital revolution by Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies and blockchain. “We not only want to talk about digitization, but also actively promote them together with employees and customers,” says CEO Marcel Stalder, “it is important to us to take everyone on the journey and to prepare for the revolution of the business world by blockchain, smart contracts and digital currencies. Blockchain is a very quickly developing technology that can constantly change many industries.”

Without going further into detail, the press release explains that EY Switzerland already advises and accompanies several customers to integrate blockchain technology into operating processes. In an in-house innovation laboratory, the consulting company also tests “the development of digital, on smart contracts based products”.
